# What is Hyperliquid Names?

Hyperliquid Names is a protocol for issuing, exchanging, and managing tokenized names on HyperEVM

Hyperliquid Names maps human-readable names like `jeff.hl` to crypto addresses `0xA1b2C3` and more! Hyperliquid Names also supports `Primary Names`, making it possible to do a reverse lookup from your crypto address to your`.hl` name.

The `.hl` top level domain (TLD) is owned by smart contracts, which specify rules governing the allocation, ownership, and usage of the name. This enables a decentralized, trustless, and transparent name system.
